Moisture trapped inside closet
This bedroom inside a finished basement experienced water damage after the basement was flooded. The carpets and wall trims were removed. Our technicians also cut a foot of drywall from the bottom of all the walls. This is referred to as a flood cut. Drywall is super absorbent and water from the flooring can be sucked upward into the drywall. The moisture inside the drywall can promote mold growth. This includes making a flood cut inside the closets and opening it up to release any trapped moisture in the air. A dehumidifier was set inside the room to remove water from the air.
