Flood Cut to Prevent Mold
During a water loss, wall materials begin to act as a wick, absorbing the moisture that creeps upwards. While most of the time we are able to dry-down the structure without requiring demolition work, there are times such methods of remediation are necessary. When there is evidence of microbial growth or indicators that such growth may be occurring, we perform a 2’ or 4’ cut horizontally across the affected areas. This allows our technicians to inspect the frame behind the drywall for growth and removes the contaminated structure. These measured cuts allow repair contractors to save on material cost, reducing the cost of the overall remediation and repair.
